July 24, 2008: "Rice wants "serious answer" from Iran"

Rice wants "serious answer" from Iran

ABU DHABI (Reuters) - U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice warned Iran on Monday that it faced more sanctions if it defied a two-week deadline to agree to curb its nuclear program.

Iran has been very secretive about their nuclear program for long enough to draw global attention. Everyone wants the straight answers that Iran has been avoiding. All they have said is that their program is for peace reasons only. But everyone fears that they are making a bomb.

Personally, I feel that it is okay for Iran to have the nuclear program they currently have as long as they are willing to allow any other world powers to come in for inspections whenever they want. Iran should not be allowed to be so secretive about what they are doing because there is simply to many lives at stake. If Iran's aim is truly one of peace, then they should have no problem with opening their borders and nuclear plants for others to visit and just check up on them. Iran may not be making a bomb, but they need to prove they are not in order for the rest of the world to sleep at night.

If someone has nothing to hide, they will invite you for dinner without a problem.
