July 5, 2008: "Obama wades into controversy with Iraq comments"

Obama wades into controversy with Iraq comments

FARGO, North Dakota (Reuters) - Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama waded into controversy on Thursday over his plans to withdraw U.S. combat troops from Iraq, first saying he might "refine" his views but later declaring his stance had remained unchanged for more than a year.

Everyone needs to read this article to fully understand what I am talking about. In this article Obama continuously states that he is firmly against the war and will start to pull troops out of Iraq as soon as possible. But, he continues to say that this will be done in a safe manner and everything will depend on the situation on the ground.
But wait a minute there. This sure seems to me like he is just trying to win the votes of America by saying no to the war, while mean time he is slipping in comments about how when the time comes it will depend the ground conditions. Now if the ground conditions today were suitable for US forces to leave, then they would get the heck out of there. Obama is just putting emphasis on how he wants to end the war while in the mean time slipping in the reality that he probably won't be able to deliver on plan.

Obama is trying to take advantage of the politics involved in this war to gain votes. This seems greedy. And if you did read the article you will see how he faltered in this plan. Is Obama the right man for presidency? He seems weak and stubborn in this circumstance.
